This simplicity gave me the confidence to call my young daughter to the table. Obviously there is a lot more going on with the interaction of the map and the races, deciding how best to branch out, when to enter decline, and how to evaluate the board state. But she could certainly take her Alchemist Skeletons and run roughshod over the map. Once I explained that she is rewarded with more Skeletons for conquering rather than taking empty territories, she understood enough to start picking on people. She held those Skeletons for 7 rounds and didn’t finish last (among four players), a testimony to the fact that anyone can play Small World with relative success.
Yes, this game is from 2009, so over 10 years old now, and I would venture to call it a classic. It was one of the first modern board games I learned and the second game I taught to our daughter, who really enjoyed playing it with me. Smallworld is very easy to teach and quite quick to learn. You choose one of the factions available, take the relevant tokens and start placing them on the map, spreading from one region to an adjacent region, placing additional tokens when pushing out already placed factions or conquering more difficult terrain, such as mountains, until you run out of your faction’s tokens. Then you count the regions you control and get points, before it’s the next player’s turn. It’s all about area control and really straightforward.

See if you notice any spots on the map where blue balls don’t reach, these spots will be your safe spots on the map. You also should pay attention to how fast the blue balls are moving. Some might be moving fast, and others might be moving slower.
The abundance of RNG present in The Binding Of Isaac also makes 100% completion all the more challengeing, prematurely ending runs that could have led to new unlocks. The large roster of playable characters, plethora of achievements, and challenging gameplay make The Binding Of Isaac difficult to 100% complete.
